OK, another Iowa-Iowa State football game has passed and, once again, the prediction from this corner was wrong, wrong, wrong!
I always forget this game isn't an easy one to predict, even though it often seems that way. The old cliche about throwing out records and rankings fits this series perfectly.
I fully expected - and deserved - some backlash from Iowa State supporters on Monday, but to my surprise I had only one e-mail poking fun at my pick and those of the others in our weekly GameDay Pick 'ems.
Those picks are made if fun and it's great to see that they are taken in that context. We try to pick the right winner, most of the time, but for the most part, it's just a way to have fun with each other and entertain our readers a bit.
I hope we do that every week.
Next year, I promise that I have learned my lesson about this Cy-Hawk series. Maybe.
