Importance of Caucus to nation
Reply Quote
As a Mayor of a suburb north of Chicago I have come to Iowa to knock on doors for Barrack Obama for three separate weekends and have gained a special appreciation of the Iowa Caucus and Iowans in general. I have been most impressed with the focus and knowledge of all Iowa voters on issues and candidates well ahead of the actual caucus. Most every door I knocked on showed a heartwarming heartland hospitality and willingness to chat and share their views. Though I was knocking for Barrack I appreciated hearing why some people felt strong about other candidates. Yes, though there are many good and capable people seeking to lead our nation in the current presidential field, most agreed that good and capable is not good enough. The times dictate that we need a special kind of leader who can bring us together to bridge the national divide and rally and excite the nation to come together . I think most people I spoke to appreciated that .Barack Obama has the potential to be that special kind of leader who is not only intelligent and capable but one who has demonstrated the ability to provide the kind of leadership we need. Iowa is special since Iowans get to see the candidates up close and personal. After Iowa most of the rest of the nation has to rely on the media campaigns and 30 second soundbites to learn about the candidates. That is why Iowa is so very important and why the rest of the nation will be impacted by who emerges at the top of the pack in the Iowa caucus. People know that Iowans have really kicked the tires and looked closely at all the candidates before making their decisions on caucus nite. That too is why it is so very important for every eligible Iowan to come out on Caucus nite. The nation will be watching and what is decided in Iowa on January 3rd truly effects the future of our country. We throughout the nation are counting on you!!!!!

I think that those of you who have seen and heard Barack Obama know that he is a special kind of person. Barack has the uncanny ability to get people to work together on both sides of the aisle. .Barack has the breadth of life experiences to lead with respect and commitment for diverse needs and backgrounds of people throughout our nation and the world. He has the ability to inspire, excite and generate enthusiasm and excitement for change. Barack is not a packaged and programmed candidate ,but is the real thing and quite genuine. Barack does not feel compelled to tell people what they want to hear but tells what needs to be heard . Barack is not afraid to give details of stands he would take and encourage in grappling with major issues.Though he makes clear his commitment to use force as needed to maintain our security ,he makes clear his willingness to speak to our adversaries to explore diplomatic solutions. His understanding of our constitution as a former teacher of Constitutional law insures that under his leadership our government will not stray from fundamental basic constitutional rights and protections that are the bedrock of our American democracy and a beacon to the rest of the world As a skilled orator he will be able to use the bully pulpit to inspire and rally the nation. Barack’s integrity and dedication to serving the public good transcends any disagreements one may have with him on a given issue. He personifies those special and unique traits of a leader who is right for the times.

With the Iowa caucus nearly upon us we are at a pivotal point in determining whether we have the opportunity to elect a unique leader like Barack Obama to ignite and excite and unify our nation for the changes we all expect for our families, neighbors and fellow Americans. Don’t wait. Get involved and lend your support to Barack Obama today and come out to support him on Caucus nite on January 3rd. The future of our nation is in your hands and we cannot afford to fail. Your prompt commitment of support and involvement will insure that when we wake up to read headlines of an Obama victory in Iowa you will have laid the cornerstone paving the road towards a bright new future for our country.
