I'll break the ice here, since I started this whole thing for our community. I've had to move my wristband five times since Dec. 29 when I handed out wristbands in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Putting on the wristband has made me more aware of what's going through my brain before it comes out of my mouth, which is how I account for not having moved my wristband more often. I'm self-censoring the major complaints and the negative comments, so each time I've had to move it has been for a fairly petty complaint. I do find myself trying to frame comments in a positive way, which I think is the crux of this whole effort. In a recent e-mail exchange with the minister who got the no-complaints ball rolling by challenging his congregation, he summarized the Complaint-Free movement this way: "Say what you want, not what you don't want."
How's it going for the rest of you?
